Gamescom 2013 Coverage
Contrary to popular belief, E3 is not the world’s largest video game show – it’s merely America’s largest show (with PAX quickly closing in…). However, THE world’s largest interactive entertainment show – Gamescom – is right around the corner. In fact, it’s practically here. From August 21st through to August 25th, the biggest (and smallest!) names in the video game industry will be showing off their latest and greatest goods, and Square Enix is no exception. Games already confirmed to be showing up during their presentations are as follow:
- Deus Ex: The Fall
- Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
- Final Fantasy XV
- Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster
- Kingdom Hearts III
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX
- Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
- Murdered: Soul Suspect
- Thief
Keep in mind that these are just the confirmed titles. Shows of this magnitude do not just have the nature to surprise folks, but almost an expectation! Maybe we’ll be seeing a brand new (actual) trailer for Kingdom Hearts III? Maybe we’ll get that long fabled 2.5 ReMIX announced at last? Maybe they’ll just regurgitate everything they had at E3? Who knows. Whatever the case may be, keep your bookmarks locked right on this here page as we’ll continually update as the news and media rolls in!

UPDATE – AUGUST 24th, 2013
…*crickets chirping*
So apparently, pretty much nothing happened at Gamescom. According to floor reports, all they did was demo up FFX’s HD remaster, KH 1.5 and nothing else. KH3, FFXV and some other games only had trailers playing around the booth areas. But wait! IGN DID in fact catch some new gameplay off-screen!
…Not even two minutes long. And in German (it IS in Cologne). Disappointing. But there’s always the Tokyo Game Show, right? ….Right?
